What do we know about God really?
Since he supersedes our imagination, i can only believe that the bible is only a little fraction of the
awesomeness that is our God.
So, if we think that God is great and mighty and all that good stuff, why don’t we trust in him.
If i was able to live as my heart pleased, (Without the limitations of my mind and reason) I would give him everything and i mean everything,no matter how trivial it sounds
He wants to know any way. I know this is a poor comparison but stick with me. Imagine you had a VERY rich uncle who brought you into his house and took you to a beautiful bedroom and said you could have anything and you could be anything you wanted to be in life.. Forgetting your restrictions and (maybe) misgivings, wouldn’t you tell him some of the desires of your heart? Now, lets think your uncle has a son, do you think your cousin would be squeamish about asking his father for stuff?
How much more God, who is not your rich uncle but your father and he owns THE WORLD. He wants us to have the best in life and he’s already told us that he wants to give us an expected end (Mind you, this expected end is good because that’s all the plans he has for us. And He is GOOD)
It’s like when i learned how to swim.
The instructor said to glide. For the whole first class, i didn’t so much as go above shoulder level of the water
But i remember the next class, i told myself that if i didn’t do it then my inhibitions would keep me from learning how to swim for the entire semester.. after a good half hour of summoning courage, i took a deep breath and did it. Took the plunge. and by the time i surfaced, I had glided. well, i won’t say it was smooth sailing from there but i had conquered my fear.
Thats how we should take the plunge (leap of faith, or whatever tickles your fancy) in trusting God. Just close your eyes and Let it go. I assure you, You will not fall!
